Torque is an important characteristic of a car, showing how quickly the engine reaches maximum power. Very often, motorists have a desire to increase the value of this characteristic. This desire is quite feasible, and for its implementation, you can go in several ways.

Step 1
One of them is turbocharging the engine. As a result of this upgrade, air does not enter the engine along with the stroke, but is forced by the turbine. A turbine is a pump that pumps air into the engine, thereby increasing the volume of the working mixture into the cylinder. After purchasing one of these turbochargers, attach it to the engine exhaust manifold. If you purchased a mechanical supercharger, then attach it to the crankshaft, since this type of turbine is powered by the energy of the engine itself.
Step 2
Another, cheaper way to increase torque is to use a larger intake valve. First, find a valve with a suitable capacity. After that, prepare it for installation: adjust its dimensions in accordance with the dimensions of the motors (you may need a lathe), make sure that it is seated tightly. Do not forget that this method is individual for each car, do not be afraid to experiment (within reason, of course).
Step 3
Another method of increasing engine torque is to increase the displacement. To do this, replace your crankshaft with a crankshaft with a long stroke or install pistons with a larger diameter, or better, do both. Also use lighter pistons to reduce stress on the crankshaft. Do not forget, after all the manipulations with the replacement of engine parts, carefully adjust the ignition and fuel supply with air. This is done either by flashing the electronic unit in the case of injection engines, or by adjusting the carburetor.
Step 4
There is also a faster way to increase engine torque called chip tuning. If your car is equipped with an electronic control unit, then use the help of specialists who will either remove the chip responsible for the engine control and reprogram it, or replace it with another one.
