You can remove a car from the register through the State Services, but you will have to visit the traffic police once. Using the portal, you can submit an application if the reason is the export of the car outside the country or the desire to dispose of the car.
The need to remove a car from the register arises when theft, sale abroad, change of residence or when planning disposal. In our country, conditions have been created to facilitate the process of submitting documents. This can be done on the "Gosuslugi" portal.

How to deregister a car?
If you are not registered yet, you will have to fill out a form to go through authorization. Previously, access to all services was possible only in special centers or using a key that was sent by mail. Today, many are undergoing the procedure using the personal account of Sberbank.
Log in to your personal account. On the main page in the category of services, select "Deregistration of a motor vehicle". Please note: the service is provided if the reason is the disposal or export of the car outside the Russian Federation. Select the required subcategory.
Steps:
- Select the type of service receipt.
- Fill out the application with the data from the documents.
- Make an appointment with the Automobile Inspectorate.
- Submit your application through the website.
Users are given the opportunity to choose from the list the traffic police department that is geographically most suitable. When making an appointment, the date and time of the visit are indicated. You must have the originals of all official papers with you. Directly in the department, you do not need to enter the electronic queue, you just need to find yourself in the list of those who submitted documents through the portal.
Some subtleties
If the data is filled in correctly, the owner receives a positive answer. After that, an employee contacts him, who, if necessary, can give advice. If the answer is negative, the reason is given. Most often it is associated with errors when filling out the form.
For many public services, a state fee is paid. When removing a car from the register, it is relevant only if the reason is related to the export of transport abroad. In this case, you can make a payment through "Gosuslugi".
From 01.01.2017, when paying through the site, a 30% discount is provided. If you decide to pay the fee at the bank, then print the receipt from the website. In all other cases, the service is provided free of charge.
The procedure for deregistering a car using the site takes no more than one day. It is possible to change the list of documents provided, depending on the reason for the appeal. Therefore, before visiting the branch, you should clarify the information with the staff. In most cases, it may be necessary to provide vehicles for inspection.
