Registration of the purchased car with the traffic police is a procedure enshrined in the legislation. Currently, it is possible to pass it in a short time through the Internet portal "Gosuslugi".
Prepare the necessary documents for car registration. These include:
- passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation;
- vehicle passport (PTS);
- diagnostic card of the car;
- OSAGO insurance policy;
- auto purchase and sale agreement;
- a receipt for payment of the state duty (you can get it after submitting an application for registration).
Go to the website https://www.gosuslugi.ru and enter your personal account. Car registration belongs to the list of public services that require confirmation of the applicant's identity. To do this, you must select one of the authentication methods in your account on "Gosuslugi", for example, a personal visit to the service office or ordering a special pin code by mail.
As soon as the profile is confirmed, the item "Vehicle registration" will appear in the list of services on the main page. By clicking on it, go to the option "Registration of a motor vehicle in the traffic police". Indicate that you would like to receive the service electronically. Select the type of vehicle and type of ownership. Enter your full name, date of birth, phone number, email address and other required information. It is important to enter a valid residential address in order to complete the procedure properly.
Indicate whether you need to issue a new vehicle registration number by filling in the information about the old identifier in the X555XX77 format. Get and write down the details for paying the state duty for issuing new registration data, which is 2,000 rubles. The same requisites will apply when obtaining a vehicle passport (the amount of the state duty is 800 rubles). You can pay for the service here, for example, by credit card, or by visiting any branch of Sberbank.
Enter the vehicle identification number (VIN) and body number. Indicate the make, year of manufacture and model of the car, as well as fill in the data on the engine type and body color. Next, you need to enter the basic data from the TCP, the document on the ownership of the car and the insurance policy. Select the traffic police department at the place of registration or residence on the map, and then indicate the desired date and time for making an appointment. Then it remains to send an application for verification by pressing the appropriate key.
Wait until the application is verified, which takes up to one working week, after which a notification will appear in your personal account about its successful acceptance or the need for correction (if any errors are found). Visit the selected traffic police department at a predetermined time, hand over a package of necessary documents and undergo a face-to-face inspection by a vehicle inspector. After that, the owner will be issued a ready-made vehicle registration certificate and new registration plates, if they were ordered in the application.
