Step 1
Set aside at least four hours in your schedule. Unfortunately, waiting in line for a transit number takes a lot of time. Pay the state duty for deregistering the car in the amount of 50 rubles, plus the bank's commission will be the same. The state fee can be paid through an ATM.

Fill out an application to deregister the car. This can be done in companies involved in the registration of the purchase and sale of cars, or independently. The application form is on the official website of the traffic police - www.gibdd.ru in the "Registration Actions" section. Follow the link "Deregistration (for sale)" and you will see all the necessary documents

Carry out an inspection in the technical department of the traffic police. This is necessary to verify the number plates of the engine and body with the data indicated in the vehicle's passport. After the operations performed, the following should be handed over to the MREO traffic police department, which is engaged in the removal and registration of cars: a metal license plate of the state standard, PTS, a vehicle registration certificate, a receipt for payment of a state duty, an application. Then you will be given a transit number.

And do not forget that in accordance with the vehicle registration rules, the vehicle must be registered within 21 days after receiving the transit number. Otherwise, the traffic police inspectors have the right to fine you under paragraph 1 of Article 12.1. Administrative Code of the Russian Federation "Driving a vehicle that is not registered in accordance with the established procedure", for which you will have to pay a fine of 500 rubles, as well as under paragraph 2 of article 12.2 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation "Driving a vehicle without state registration plates". In this case, you will have to pay 5 thousand rubles or even lose the right to drive a vehicle for a period of 3 to 8 months.
