The procedure for registering a car with the traffic police in Russia is generally the same. In Moscow, however, starting from January 2011, any resident of the capital can receive this public service in any department of the traffic police that provides it, of his choice.
Instructions
Step 1
You can sign up for the queue for registering a car via the Internet on the official website of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of the Central Internal Affairs Directorate in Moscow or on the state services portal "Gosuslugi.ru". At the same time, you can choose a date and a convenient time from the proposed options. There are also options for filling out an application for registering a car online and an application form and a receipt for paying the necessary state fees are offered to download. These are fees for the issuance of a certificate of registration of a car, license plates, if necessary - making changes to a previously issued technical passport.
Step 2
Prepare the necessary documents: your passport, registration certificate for, a document confirming your ownership of it (purchase and sale agreement, certificate from a car dealership, customs declaration or customs certificate), OSAGO policy (it can be purchased directly at a car dealership or any insurance company), transit numbers, if you have them (in this case, you must have time to register the car before their expiration date). If you register someone else's car, you will need a power of attorney from its owner.
Step 3
By the appointed time, bring the fully equipped car to the site for inspection and show the traffic police all the necessary documents and receipts for payment of state duties.
The waiting period for the start of the registration procedure cannot exceed three hours, the same maximum time is allotted by law for the provision of the service itself. But if additional verification is required, it may take up to 30 days.
Upon completion of all the necessary actions, you will be given a certificate of state registration of the car and numbers.
