When self-painting a car and lack of sufficient experience, self-taught amateurs very often form paint smudges. Modern technologies and materials allow you to successfully cope with smudges.
It is necessary
- - sandpaper P400, P600, P1000 and P2000;
- - water spray;
- - dry soft rags;
- - abrasive polish for paint No. 2 and No. 3;
- - polishing machine.
Instructions
Step 1
Dry the painted part at a temperature of 40 degrees for 2 hours, then let the paint cool and stand for a day. Use acrylic paints for the best result in the hobbyist environment. They do not require a protective layer of varnish and look great after drying.
Step 2
Make sure the paint is dry and cured well. Only hard paint can be processed.
Step 3
Use P400 emery paper to remove any spillages. Take your time and during this operation try not to rub the surrounding paint with sandpaper. Check the remaining height of the drip from time to time, and also wash off the powder from the paint that forms during the process of sanding the drip.
Step 4
Having washed off the body of the drip completely, gently use a water spray to rinse the remaining powder from the paint, then wipe with a dry cloth. Examine the treated area carefully. It shouldn't even have barely noticeable steps. More precisely, this moment can be checked by sliding your fingers over the treated area. If you don't feel any obvious irregularities, proceed to the next step.
Step 5
Using P600 sandpaper soaked in water, work around the spot where the leak was and a small area around it. The goal is to remove the risks left over from working with a larger sandpaper. It is necessary to rub, making movements first in one direction, and then in another, at an angle of 75-90 degrees, so as not to make deeper scratches. After leveling the surface, wash off the remnants of the worn off paint, take P1000 sandpaper and repeat the operation, slightly expanding the area to be treated.
Step 6
Wash the part completely and sand it completely with P2000 sandpaper according to the technology described in paragraph 5.
Step 7
Apply polish # 2 to the polishing sponge and use a polishing machine to polish the part to a high gloss. If you look closely, there are small scratches on the polished part. Remove them with polish # 3.
