The battery is one of the main devices in your car. Sometimes, for service purposes, the battery needs to be removed from the vehicle and replaced with a new one, or brought home to recharge. To do this, you need to be able to properly disconnect and remove the battery from your vehicle.
Instructions
Step 1
Before you start removing the battery, you need to turn off all the load in the on-board network. Turn off the radio, turn off the dimensions and running lights, check the rest of the equipment.
Step 2
Next, you should remove the ignition key from the lock and be sure to take it with you. The security system of many cars perceives the removal of the battery as a break-in of the car and locks the doors. If the keys slammed inside the cabin, it wouldn't be much fun.
Step 3
Now you need to open the hood of the car and remove the clamps. To do this, you need an open-end wrench with which you can loosen the clamp. Most likely this is a 10 mm key.
Step 4
Once the terminals have been released, follow the order in which they were removed. First we remove the negative terminal and only then the positive one! After all, a car body is a negative policy. If you remove the positive terminal block first, then if you accidentally touch the body, a short will occur and, at least, will knock out the fuse box. But the wire may also burn, and somewhere in an uncomfortable place.
Step 5
Next, you need to unscrew the bolt securing the battery in its place. And only now can you remove the battery. Do not forget that it is heavy and you need to use a lot of force to remove it.
