The ability to properly get under way in a car with a manual transmission will keep the clutch discs in good condition for a long time. On training cars in driving schools, while cadets are mastering driving techniques, this part most often fails. How to start the movement correctly?
Instructions
Step 1
The car is on the hand brake. This is a prerequisite in the parking lot, because it is not for nothing that its second name is “parking brake”. Sit in the driver's seat adjusted for you, relax, check the freedom of movement of the legs and arms. Check and, if necessary, move the gear shift lever - it must be in neutral before starting the engine.
Step 2
Look around for people, obstacles, and obstacles. Insert the key into the ignition switch. Depress the clutch pedal with your left foot and start the engine. The right foot is on the gas pedal. Let the engine run for a while to warm up and enter operating mode.
Step 3
Once again looking around, engage first gear. On a level ground, feel free to remove the car from the "handbrake" - at the same time be ready to use the main foot brake at any time. Release the clutch pedal smoothly. At the same time, accelerate by depressing the gas pedal with your right foot.
Step 4
When the vehicle starts to move and moves forward slowly, remove your left foot from the clutch pedal. Adjust the travel speed with the accelerator and brake pedals. Having achieved stable engine operation and confident movement, depress the clutch pedal to the end and shift the manual transmission lever to second gear.
