The device and appearance of the door trim on a Renault Megan car differs depending on the level of equipment of the car and the additional equipment installed on it. Accordingly, the arrangement of the trim panels and their fastening elements differ.
Instructions
Step 1
Disconnect the negative lead from the battery terminal. If the radio is coded, make sure you know the unlock code before disconnecting the battery. It is usually indicated on the radio card attached to the factory instructions.
Step 2
On Megan's front doors, to remove the interior trim panels, first detach the outside rearview mirror panel from the front of the door. Remove the door speaker. Unscrew all the fasteners in the storage compartment (over the door pocket).
Step 3
Lift the door pocket up to release it from the mounting brackets, and then remove it by disconnecting the electrical wiring connector if necessary. At the bottom of the armrest, remove the cap, unscrew the fastening screw under this cap and remove the plastic panel of this recess.
Step 4
After unscrewing the screw securing the inner handle, remove it by disconnecting the rods coming from it. On models with manual power windows, remove the power window arm from its axle and remove the spacer. After making sure that all screws securing the inner panel have been removed, carefully detach the panel from the door.
Step 5
On Megan Scenic models, the screws for fastening the door pocket are located in the lower part of the casing and in the opening of the speaker. To remove the door pocket, after unscrewing all the screws, slide the upper part outward to release the upper mounting bracket.
Step 6
Then lift the pocket up and off the locating pin. If necessary, disconnect the harness connector and remove the pocket. If there is a cover under the rearview mirror, remove it. In the opening that opens, remove the mounting brackets for the electric mirrors control panel and disconnect the wiring connectors.
Step 7
On models with manual mirrors, remove the rubber boot from the adjuster knob, loosen the set screw and press the tab on the adjuster assembly, then release the control cables. Carry out all other work on removing the door trim in the same way as on Megan models (see steps 2-4).
Step 8
On the rear doors, unscrew the screws located at the base of the door pocket. On Megan Scenic models, detach the side panel at the back of the window. Remove the trim panel as described above, disregarding the wiring instructions.
