Any car consumes oil, and the amount of oil can vary depending on the type of engine of the car. There are models that are designed with significantly higher consumption, for example, cars with a turbine.
The oil serves mainly to lubricate all internal moving parts of the engine, protecting them from dry friction and thereby prolonging the life of the parts. This creates an oil film on the surface. Its natural process is its combustion together with the fuel mixture on the cylinder walls of a running engine. Over time, the cylinders wear out, and a larger volume of oil begins to enter them, causing a greater waste consumption. The engine can also have problematic joints where cracks or gaps form through which oil can flow.
Also, there are cases of marriage in new cars, characterized by large volumes of losses. Even if the vehicle has been recently released, it is best to periodically check the engine oil level. This is especially true for Russian-made models.
Consumption directly depends on the physical properties of the oil. Cheap low-quality brands with insufficient viscosity and poor chemical composition are consumed faster.
Remember that oil has a rate of production in addition to the volumetric flow rate. Black, cloudy waste oil, even when present in the engine, has almost lost its properties. Depending on its condition, the machine will have to replace the entire volume of oil.
Remember to check the oil level and condition. Use the special dipstick in the engine, watch the warning indicators on the dashboard, and change the oil in time.
