The rechargeable battery powers the engine of the machine. In the event of a faulty generator, the battery serves as a backup power source. This device must not only correspond to the parameters of the car, but also have proper quality certificates and a guarantee.

Step 1
The new battery must be of the same capacity as the old one, or close in value to it. You can find this information in the instructions for the battery or read on the label. It indicates the capacity of a 20-hour battery charge, ampere / hour is taken as a unit of measurement. Read the data sheet for your vehicle to find out which battery capacity is optimal for it.
Step 2
When purchasing a battery from imported ones, give preference to the one whose country of origin is close in climatic conditions to the region of operation of the car. Batteries made in Western European countries, for example, in Germany, are suitable for use in the European part of Russia. The correct choice of the country of origin will allow you to insure against the purchase of a battery that refuses to work in cold weather.
Step 3
When purchasing a device filled with electrolyte, check the density of the latter. This condition applies to both domestic and imported products. Make sure that the battery is charged and that the density is at least 1.25 g / 1 cm2. A dry-charged battery should be guaranteed for several years. For example, German batteries have a six-year warranty, and their performance does not degrade over this period of time.
Step 4
Determine the polarity. For most VAZ cars, it is straight. To verify this, look at the battery: the terminals should be located closer to the radiator grille, while the positive terminal is on the left. If the terminals are close to the rear wall of the engine compartment, and the positive contact is located on the right, then the polarity of the battery is reversed.
Step 5
Pay attention to the type of terminals. Batteries with European type terminals are suitable for a VAZ car. This means that they are thicker than Asian ones. Such terminals are fastened with a metal smooth clamp.
Step 6
When making a purchase of a battery, be sure to take a warranty card and a technical passport of the device from the seller. Examine the battery case for damage, check the date of manufacture (with prolonged downtime, the properties of the battery may deteriorate or be completely lost).
