One of the main systems in a car is braking. And it is very important to ensure that all wearing parts in it are promptly replaced. This is especially true for brake pads. After all, it is on them that the safety of the vehicle depends. Can I change them myself? Can.
Necessary
- -set of pads;
- -a piece of wire for the suspension of the caliper;
- -tools;
- -good mood.
Instructions
Step 1
First you need to loosen the wheel nuts. Then jack up and secure the vehicle. Rollbacks must be placed under the wheels that remain on the floor so that the car does not roll away. Now you can remove the wheels. Remember to unscrew the nuts counterclockwise.
Step 2
To remove the wheel, you must first disconnect the brake hose from the support bracket. Then the outer bracket holding the shoe is folded back. From there the cylinder is taken out. Check the brake disc for cracks and other defects. When replacing the pads, the main thing is not to damage the brake pipes.
Step 3
All surfaces - both the brake disc and the pads - must be clean and dry. The inner shoe is installed first, and then the outer one. We insert the bracket back, then the plugs.
Step 4
Now you need to put the wheel back in place and screw it on. Clockwise now. The pads on the remaining wheels are changed in a similar way.
Step 5
It remains only to roll the pads a little by pressing the brake pedal several times so that the pads are pressed against the brake disc. And check the brake fluid in the reservoir. Everything is good? You can go!
