Unfortunately, the vast majority of Russian roads still have the worst reputation, and the problem of premature strut replacement is very urgent. On cars that can be found today, there are two types of shock absorption systems: collapsible and non-collapsible.

The vast majority of modern cars are equipped with non-separable shock absorption systems. Their antipodes can be found on a few more classical models. Shock absorbers VAZ 2106 are a typical representative of collapsible systems. They are characterized by a traditional set of main parts: a reservoir with a head, a working cylinder, a compression valve and a rod in combination with a piston and valves, a guide sleeve, a nut, a seal and a casing.

The working fluid is in the cylinder and reservoir. In its lower part, the bottom is seamed, which serves as a support for the compression valve. From the outside, a lower shock absorber head is welded to the bottom of the tank. The compression valve consists of a body, discs, plates, springs and ferrules. The compression valve body is made of sintered metal.

Step 4

Modern non-separable shock absorption systems look completely different. One of the world's largest manufacturers of shock absorbers is the Japanese company KAYABA, which annually produces up to 50 million items. This series of shock absorbers allows the driver to independently change the driving performance of the car in a matter of seconds, without resorting to a jack. All adjustments can be made using a special convex disc on its surface.
