Increased noise in the cabin is one of the most common "diseases" of domestic cars. You can get rid of this trouble if you use modern sound-absorbing materials; at the same time, the work is not particularly difficult - everything can be done independently.
Soundproofing of any VAZ car includes work on pasting with special materials the engine compartment, hood, interior, doors, wheel arches. At the same time, the work carried out is by and large similar and does not depend on the car brand. The preliminary stage consists in disassembling the passenger compartment (removing the factory floor upholstery, doors), removing the dashboard and headliner. In the latter case, carefully write down the wire connections, as not all VAZ models have connectors that cannot be connected to the “wrong” place.
Interior soundproofing
First you need to select the appropriate soundproofing material. The market offers a huge number of options for such products. You can dwell, for example, on vibroplast - an inexpensive and high-quality material that looks like rubberized foil. Before you start pasting, treat the places where pure metal is visible with a solvent (650th, 648th, etc.) or white spirit, acetone. Before sticking, the vibroplast must be heated with a construction (or ordinary) hair dryer. After making the material soft and pliable, quickly glue it on the desired spot while it is still warm. Work should begin with the main source of noise - a metal front panel ("wall" between the passenger compartment and the engine compartment), then the floor and doors are glued.
Soundproofing of the ceiling can be done with foam rubber. It is glued to bare metal with liquid nails or polyurethane foam. Sound insulation of wheel arches, a niche for a spare wheel, doors is recommended to be carried out with the help of another sound-proof material - Izolona (fine-bubble sheets 5 mm thick). It is necessary to glue it on bare metal by means of polyurethane foam - this material has additional soundproofing properties.
Other soundproof materials
Bitoplast gives a good sound absorption effect, which you can prepare yourself. To do this, take a rubber-bitumen mastic and dilute it with white spirit so that it looks like liquid sour cream. Next, saturate the foam rubber with the resulting composition and dry the resulting material in the open air. Homemade bitoplast can be used to paste over any metal surfaces, but more often it is used as a basis for pasting with "factory" material.
Also from the soundproof materials it is worth noting "Visomat". This material is good at eliminating small "shiver" of auto - vibration. It is a polymer composition having an adhesive layer protected by an anti-adhesive film. "Visomat" does not absorb moisture, does not decompose. To eliminate the characteristic squeaks of plastic body elements, a material such as "Proline" is suitable. This is a self-adhesive polyurethane foam sound absorber, produced in the form of individual elements with a thickness of 5-30 mm.
