Most car enthusiasts sooner or later are faced with the need to replace the lamp in the headlight. It's pretty easy if you follow the simple instructions.
Most modern headlight models are designed in such a way that to replace the light bulb in them, you do not need to dismantle the headlight itself, but only remove the protective cap from the base and remove it along with the lamp. In modern headlights, the lamp consists of a diffuser, a reflector and the actual light source - usually an incandescent lamp. The diffuser can be movable to change the angle of incidence of the luminous flux.
In many car models, lighting is changed using an electronic control unit. In this case, you must first disconnect the headlight from the automotive power system, and then replace the lamp. Check the cleanliness and general condition of the contacts before replacing the lamp. It should be borne in mind that replacing burned out lamps in direction indicators and rear-view lamps will require complete dismantling of the headlight.
To replace the lamp, start by loosening the screws securing the lighting unit. Only then will you be able to gain access to the lamp fixing mechanism. The lighting fixture must be removed carefully and smoothly so as not to damage its clips. After you open access to the lamp socket, you can begin to carefully unscrew it, smoothly turning it counterclockwise. Then you can remove it from the car body and replace the burnt out bulb.
Some lamps are mounted on special holders. Which you just need to bend to remove the lamp. This allows you to change a burnt out light bulb in any conditions, even in the absence of a suitable tool.
Before proceeding with the assembly of the headlamp, it is advisable to clean the space around the mounting point of the lighting unit. It is recommended to remove excess moisture and dirt, it is even possible to treat the joints with a sealant if local moisture penetration points are found. This can significantly extend the life of the headlamp. Otherwise, the headlamp is assembled in the same way as dismantling it.
