Necessary
- - equipment for diagnostics;
- - control devices;
- - PC with the necessary software;
- - keys set.
Instructions
Step 1
Make a thorough diagnostics of the engine of your car, concentrate special attention on those parts of the mechanism, on which your safety directly depends. If you find any faults, fix them as soon as possible. Overhaul, and even more so a complete replacement of the motor, will cost you much more expensive than replacing individual parts.
Step 2
Unscrew the spark plugs and note their color. A yellowish straw or dark brown tint indicates that the ignition devices are working properly. Elements of the ignition system, covered with a velvety black coating, indicate that the fuel system of your car is not working properly. Contact the service center and ask the specialists to fix the problem.
Step 3
Inspect the spark plug threads carefully. If you find traces of oil on them, replace the valve seals. Otherwise, oil particles getting into the engine of your car will lead to its accelerated wear.
Step 4
Check the condition of the engine mounts to ensure a secure fit and stable interaction with the gearbox. If you find a loose connection between nodes, promptly correct the problem. Replace the mounting pads if your car starts to jerk or jerk.
Step 5
Diagnose the engine and assess the degree of wear of its parts. Extraneous noise, excessive vibration of the engine during operation, weak compression, a noticeable increase in fuel and oil consumption - these alarms require immediate engine repair.
Step 6
Carry out computer diagnostics of the engine at a service center or, if the appropriate equipment is available, do it yourself. Using a special device, check the technical condition of the parts of your car and determine the malfunctions in the operation of the mechanism.
