During the operation of the car, the radiator becomes dirty and loses its effectiveness. In order for the radiator to cope with the cooling of your car, and the car does not let you down in a traffic jam in the heat, the radiator must be regularly serviced and, if necessary, washed. It is very easy to wash the radiator, but if you do not know the simple rules, you can ruin the device.
Instructions
Step 1
Take a pressure washer, fill it with clean water without shampoos or detergents. Set the minimum pressure that can be set and direct the jet to your hand. If the jet is unpleasant, the pressure is too great. If the pressure is pleasant, then most likely you have selected the working value. If the pressure is set too high, there is a risk of damaging the radiator cells. Therefore, take a very responsible attitude to the choice of pressure.
Step 2
Position the gun or washer spray at exactly right angles to the radiator. It is important that the jet falling on the radiator runs strictly along the curb and does not cause jamming of these connecting plates. The plates are very soft and do not tolerate any aggressive influences. If the fins are jammed, expensive repairs will be required, and the radiator itself will no longer sufficiently cool the working fluid. Thus, it is extremely unsafe to use all the orientation angles of the pistol, except for the straight one. It is highly discouraged to bring the gun closer than 20-30 cm to the part. Drive the sprayer in a straight line, shutting off the fluid supply when moving to a new point.
Step 3
Now, gently, with running water, wash out the dirt from the radiator cells. If there is dense dirt, then first try to wet it with water and let it soak for several hours. If the radiator is clogged with fluff or other similar contaminants, then it will be rational to vacuum the radiator first, and only then wash it. It is also very convenient to use compressed air for purging.
