Step 1
First, remove the varnish from the conductive strip. Use a steel wire or paper clip for this purpose. The resulting strip should have a metallic sheen. Do not forget to degrease it.
Step 2
You can repair the rear window conductor using conductive paste. Turn off the heating before repairing. It is not allowed to apply the paste to hot glass. Then carefully strip the conductor and rinse well with alcohol. Next, you need to mark the area to be repaired. Use adhesive tape for this purpose. Now you can proceed directly to applying the paste to the damaged area. She will take full properties in about a day. You can also use a building hair dryer for drying. In this case, the heating can be used earlier.
Step 3
The conductor can be restored with iron filings, magnet and glue. To get started, prepare small iron filings, a small magnet and transparent glue. You can use nitro varnish instead of glue. Place the magnet on the outside over the damaged area. After that, sprinkle sawdust on the side of the conductor. Move the magnet until an electrical contact appears at the break. Then apply the glue to the sawdust with a small brush. Give it time to dry. Remove the magnet and use a blade to remove excess sawdust. Apply another layer of glue. After it dries, you can check the performance of the heating.
Step 4
For repairs, you can use paint with shavings. Use a fine file to cut the copper-brass bar into shavings. Pour it into the paint and stir well. The result should be a doughy mixture. Make a stencil using duct tape or tape. Turn on the glass heater and apply paint to the thread. In the process of application, a hiss should appear from the contact point. After a while, it will disappear. The composition will harden in about a minute.
