Competent steering wheel setup is usually the most important condition for getting the feeling from the game that the developers intended to convey to you. They always try to bring them as close as possible to the real ones due to their capabilities, including the limitations that are allowed on the racing simulators of modern game controllers. To play steering wheel games, you need to know how to calibrate the steering wheel in racing simulators and what is needed for this.
Necessary
- - steering wheel with pedals;
- - a driver for a game device;
- - utility for your steering wheel model;
- - a disc with a racing simulator.
Instructions
Step 1
Connect your gaming device to your computer, in this case a steering wheel with pedals. Install the driver for the device to work correctly.
Step 2
Download the software from the official website of the company specifically for your steering wheel model. Install the utility on your computer. Run the program and create a profile with settings. The settings will be automatically enabled when starting a particular racing game.
Step 3
Insert the racing simulator disc into the drive and install the game. Change the profile in the utility specifically for this game. Open the "Start" menu, then "Programs", find your game and file with settings. Check the box next to Use Special Force Feedback Device Settings; the Overall Effects Strength function set to 100%; Spring Effect Stregth function - 0%; Damper Effect Strength function - 0%; do not check the box next to Enable Centering Spring and Report Combined Pedal; check the box next to Use Special Steering Wheel Settings and Use Special Game Settings.
Step 4
Start a racing simulator. Open the Options menu, select the Wheel / Joystick function, set the Wheel Turn to 720 degrees. Set the linear relationship to one; Force Strength setting - start at 20 and then adjust in the game; in the Throttle / Brake Axes function - set Separate; set the Clutch parameter to Axis; set Handbrake to Button.
Step 5
Go to the Axes / FF tab, click on the Recalibrate Axes button and thus calibrate the steering wheel and pedals. Assign gas, brake and clutch pedals to their axles. Customize the gear shift buttons.
