Every motorist is periodically faced with the need to heat the rear window of his vehicle, associated with fogging or icing, which makes it difficult for the car to move. This is a fairly common activity, since almost every car is equipped with an electronic climate control function, which facilitates the process of heating the rear window in the cabin and significantly saves the car owner's time.
Necessary
- - interior heating system in the car;
- - electronic climate control system.
Instructions
Step 1
During the off-season, when most often the humidity in the air increases markedly, it becomes necessary to heat the fogged-up rear window of the car interior, thereby providing clear visibility.
Step 2
Switch on the ignition. Warm up the engine for a few minutes. Then turn on the interior heating system (stove). Adjust the power and temperature of the air flow of the fan, direct it to the windows of the car's interior, both side and rear.
Step 3
If your car has an electronic climate control function that helps to accelerate the process of heating the rear window of the passenger compartment, turn it on. The switch is located in the center of the control panel and has a designation consisting of three wavy lines arranged vertically.
Step 4
The electronic climate control system works automatically, so you don't have to make any efforts to control its operation. After 15 minutes, the rear window defroster will switch off by itself.
Step 5
With the onset of cold weather, frost or icing may be observed on the outer surface of the rear window of the car. Before turning on the heater or using the automatic heated rear window, make sure that it is not covered with a lot of snow.
Step 6
Clean the rear window. When doing this, use a shop-bought glass scraper brush and remember not to use any cleaning agents or sharp objects that could damage the flat heating conductors located on the rear window.
Step 7
Ventilate the interior of the vehicle before parking. This will help further reduce fogging or icing on the rear window of your vehicle.
