A headache not only for motorists, but also for the police, is toning. The average light transmittance of glasses should be about 70-75%, which corresponds to the established GOST 57 27-88. If your glass is tinted with a darker film, then it must be removed. This can be done by a completely accessible method.

Necessary

  • - hairdryer or hot water;
  • - acetone;
  • - a cloth;
  • - liquid for glasses and mirrors;
  • - protective film (food or construction).

Instructions

Step 1

Try to remove the film from the glass by heating it with a building or regular hair dryer. It is advisable to remove the glass before this, so it will be more convenient for you to do the work. Under the influence of warm air, the film begins to separate from the glass and can be easily removed. A hair dryer is preferable as the air temperature is much higher. Instead of heating appliances, you can use hot water, but be careful, because there is a high risk of getting burned.

Step 2

After heating the tinting, try to remove it from the glass as soon as possible. If it cools down, then it will be almost impossible to do it. Try to remove it carefully so that the film does not tear and comes off along with the glue. If you were unable to remove the tint the first time, heat the glass again and continue your painstaking work.

Step 3

Some glue may remain on the glass. Remove it with acetone. Try not to heavily moisten a cloth in the product, if drops of acetone get on the paint, whitish spots form. As a safety net, you can cover the painted parts of the machine in the processing area with construction or even cling film.

Step 4

Wipe the glass with a mirror cleaner, preferably one that contains alcohol. Usually, after the work done, the effect is amazing: the tint is safely removed, and the glass shines like new.

Step 5

If you don't succeed, then don't be discouraged. In car stores, a special liquid is sold with which you can remove the tint. But in this case, the glass must be removed, which is not very convenient. After applying the product, the tinting begins to corrode and is easily washed off with warm water. It is better to entrust this business to professionals and contact any car workshop.
