At the end of the 90s, the assembly production of foreign cars began to develop in Russia. The term “foreign cars assembled in Russia” appeared. And although manufacturers declare their high quality, not all consumers trust them. In light of these facts, information about the country of production becomes important to those who do not want to buy products collected at Russian factories.
Some of the highest quality foreign cars assembled in Russia are produced by German concerns. It is not for nothing that they do not seek to localize production: parts and spare parts of our suppliers do not meet strict German standards. Of all German automakers, BMW was the pioneer in assembling its models at a plant in Kaliningrad. Five models are currently assembled there: 3-series, 5-series, X3, X5 and X6. The Volkswagen plant in the Kaluga region assembles about 20 models with the brands Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda. Volkswagen: Polo, Sedan, Golf, Jetta, Passat, Passat CC, Tiguan, Touareg, Caddy Life, Transporter / Multivan. Skoda: Fabia, Yeti, Octavia, Octavia Tour, Superb. Audi: A4, A5, A6, Q5, Q7. It is quite possible that the line of Volkswagen cars assembled in Russia will be expanded through cooperation with the GAZ plant. In addition to German foreign cars, French and Italian models are also being assembled. Renault, in addition to the well-known Logan model, collects the Sandero hatchback and the Duster crossover. Peugeot produces the 308 and 4007, while Citroen produces the C4 and the C-Crosser crossover. The Italian Fiat in Tatarstan has set up the assembly of the Albea and Linea sedans, the Doblo Panorama commercial model. In Yelabuga, the Ducato minibus is produced in various modifications. Americans also have a wide range of foreign cars assembled in Russia. First of all, the Chevrolet concern stands out with a wide range. His most famous model is the Chevrolet Niva. In addition to it, models are assembled Chevrolet Aveo, Lacetti, Cruze, Epica, Captiva, Trailblazer, Tahoe, as well as Opel Astra and Antara. The luxury Cadillac models are also being assembled: BLS, CTS, STS, SRX, Escalade. Ford does not have a wide range of products, but its Focus and Mondeo models are extremely popular. The commercial Ford Transut is also selling well. Among Asian manufacturers, Korean foreign cars stand out for the ratio of good quality and reasonable prices. Kia Rio, Cee`d, Carens, Magentis, Opirus, Carnival, Sportage and Mohave. That is, almost the entire line of our own models. Hyundai is not far behind: Elantra, Accent, Solaris, Sonata, Santa Fe, Porter, and from heavy equipment, the County and Aero Town buses and the HD500 truck. And the former South Korean company assembles SUVs Rexton, Kyron, Action, Action Sports in Russia. Taganrog TagAZ collects Tager and Road Partner SUVs discontinued in Korea. The Japanese use a strategy similar to the German one - they do not strive to assemble as many models as possible in Russia, and those that are already on the assembly line are equipped only with Japanese spare parts and parts. There are few Japanese models: Toyota Camry, Mitsubishi Outlander XL, Nissan Teana, X-Trail and Murano. Chinese models stand apart. Models assembled in Russia do not differ in quality from branded ones. This is understandable: due to the low quality and simplicity of the design, manufacturers keep prices for their cars low. Lifan Solano and Breez, Geely Otaka and MK, Haima 3, Chery Amulet, Fora and Tiggo are assembled in our country. Among the truck manufacturers, Scania Griffin, International 9800, Isuzu NLR and NQR produce their budget models.
