OSAGO is a system of compulsory motor third party liability insurance. This means that driving a vehicle without a CTP policy is prohibited by law, and in the event of damage to your car, you, as the owner, will be able to claim compensation for damage. Under the OSAGO policy, real damage caused to the car is reimbursed (minus the actual wear of the car parts). There is a procedure for compensation for damage, and every car owner should know its nuances.
So, how can you get a CTP policy quickly and without additional hassle?
- First you need to fill out a document called "Accident Notice" directly at the scene of the accident. The notification form is issued to the motorist along with the CTP policy. It is necessary to make sure that the second participant in the accident must sign the notice - in this case, this document will be additional evidence of his involvement in making an error on the road.
- The injured party, who needs compensation for damage, notifies the insurance company of the person responsible for the accident about the incident (therefore, be sure to immediately find out the insurance policy number of the person responsible for the accident and the name of the insurance company that issued the policy to him). It is necessary to notify the insurer about the accident within 15 days from the moment of the accident (but it is possible even later).
- To get a CTP, it is not at all necessary to spend a lot of time in queues - you can simply fill out a standard payment application and send it to the insurer using the services of any postal service: it will be received and reviewed. Do not forget to clarify that you need to get your hands on a copy of the delivery notice.
- You also need to get a certificate from the traffic police. It is submitted to the insurer for consideration along with the rest of the necessary documents. Among them must be: a statement of payment signed by the affected party; protocol and resolution on the administrative case (if the case was initiated); order-receipt (if the punishment was imposed directly at the scene); vehicle registration certificate. If you carried out an examination at your own expense, the documents are also accompanied by the expert's report and a receipt for the costs of the examination.
- If your claims have a real basis, the insurer of the guilty party will pay you the agreed amount of money within 30 days from the date of receipt of the package of all documents necessary for making a decision on the case. Payment can be made both by non-cash payment and through the cash desk of the insurer.
