Modern motorcycles need reliable security alarms, probably more than cars. And not only because some cars cost several times more than the average car. A motorcycle is much easier to steal by loading it into a truck. Or putting it on the rollers with the wheels locked, roll it back to where you want it.
Instructions
Step 1
Install an electronic alarm that combines the functions of an immobilizer and a transponder. This option is more reliable and comfortable. Mechanical protection must be installed by hand every time: in a parking lot or near a store. And electronic ones can be armed when the transponder is removed at a certain distance or after a certain time.
Step 2
Before installation, check the state of charge of the battery, the voltage in the mains in different modes and the presence of leakage currents. Remove the plastic sheathing. Ring the wires and identify the circuits to block.
Step 3
You can hide the alarm in the motorcycle wherever you want (for example, under the seat, under the front fairing, in the air filter). The main thing is that this place should not be humid and heated. Overheating will oxidize the contacts and deform the device case.
Step 4
Power up the alarm from the power wires. In this case, do not use the fuses of the standard electrical systems. Block out the hardest-to-reach circuits or sensors, without which the motorcycle will be inoperative. For example, switch, fuel pump, ignition, etc. Fasten the self-contained siren securely.
Step 5
Then install the transponder antenna. Connect the alarm to the turn signals. Place the pager under the fairing, avoiding the proximity of metal elements. Display the LED on the dashboard.
Step 6
Solder the wire connections. Protect them with a heat-shrinkable tube. Wrap all the wiring with high-quality electrical tape in a bundle. Tighten the harnesses securely to avoid damage to wiring, oxidation, and false alarms.
Step 7
Now replace the negative battery terminal. But with long-term storage, it will need to be removed for this time, otherwise the battery will be completely discharged.
Step 8
Always leave the motorcycle within the range of the pager. And be sure to insure your equipment under the CASCO auto insurance program, it will never be superfluous.
