Instructions
Step 1
The Thule roof rack attaches to the roof of your vehicle with feet and whale brackets. The composition of the parts depends on the make of your car. Select two crossbars depending on how wide your roof is. Their cross section is oval or rectangular. For some car models, both are suitable, for some only one. Use the Thule Universal Rack and Rack Matching System on the manufacturer's website.
Step 2
Find the Tule Trunk Assembly Instructions that come with each of them. It shows a simple and straightforward assembly diagram. The assembly sequence for many car models is the same.
Step 3
Prepare the roof of the car, inspect it and find regular places for attaching the trunk, they can be closed with plugs, remove them. In some cases, these holes may be covered with factory paint. To find them, tap the body in the intended area and determine the attachment points by sound. If the roof of the car is smooth, open the doors of the passenger compartment and make sure that the raincoat does not interfere with the installation.
Step 4
Insert the mounting brackets into the Thule rack feet. They follow the contour of the car, so the supports will fit snugly against the edges of its roof and hold very securely. In the event that the roof of the car is equipped with roof rails, you do not need any mounting brackets.
Step 5
Fasten the supports to the crossbars - two metal sticks that will be located across the roof of the car. They are designed to attach to them a load or special attachments for transporting various equipment and implements - skis and snowboards, bicycles, boats, long objects. Each set contains 2 pieces of crossbars.
Step 6
Place the supports with crossbars on the roof of the machine and center them. Attach the supports to the edge of the roof or to the rail. If the roof has special standard holes, then attach the supports to them. Screw the thumbs or the corresponding mechanisms into the supports so that the supports are spaced. Much physical effort is not worth making for this.
Step 7
Once the Thule roof rack is firmly and securely in place, snap the anchorage points in place and, if necessary, replace the caps. Close the trunk with the supplied key.
