Any engine system, in particular fuel and oil, must always be in perfect order. An important role in this is played by filters that trap mechanical impurities and prevent them from entering the car engine. Therefore, the fuel and oil filter should be changed regularly. This operation does not take much time, but it saves money on repairs.
It is necessary
- - key for 6;
- - curly screwdriver;
- - container for fuel;
- - VAZ oil filter remover.
Instructions
Step 1
Park the vehicle on a level surface and block the wheels. Open the hood. Prepare a 2-2.5 L container for collecting fuel. It is best to use a metal bottle, but if not, then a plastic bottle will do.
Step 2
Take a 6 key or a curly screwdriver, unscrew the screws of the fastening clamps that secure the fuel filter to the hoses. Take it off them. Carefully drain the remaining fuel from the hoses and filter into the container provided. Note that the petrol hose is located below the level in the petrol tank. Therefore, plug it with a bolt 8.
Step 3
Install the new fuel filter on the vehicle so that the arrow on the filter housing, which shows the direction of fuel flow, points towards the fuel pump. Secure the hose clamps. Otherwise, the fuel filter will create resistance, which will lead to a decrease in the supply of gasoline. Also, the filter element may be damaged.
Step 4
Remove the container with gasoline carefully. Pump fuel by hand priming the fuel pump until the filter is full. Check for leaks at the body and fuel filter cap connections and hoses. Tighten them if necessary. Start the engine and check again for fuel leaks.
Step 5
Remove the used oil filter from the car with your hands or a puller. Fill the inside of the new filter one third of its volume with clean engine oil. Install the o-ring with clean engine oil. Screw the filter back into place by hand without using a tool.
Step 6
Start the engine. Warm it up for a few minutes. The oil pressure control lamp should go out 2-3 seconds after starting. Inspect the connection of the filter to the engine during operation. There should be no smudges. Stop the engine. Check the oil level with a dipstick, top up if necessary, then tighten the filter.
