Step 1
The International Driving License (IDL) is a 14.8 * 10.5 cm book, consisting of eight white and four color pages. At the end of the book there is a list of countries where you can use international rights.
Step 2
To obtain an international driver's license, contact the traffic police department and submit the following documents: - passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation; - international passport; - driver's license of the Russian Federation; - application for an international driver's license; - photo 3, 5 * 4, 5 centimeters; - medical certificate; - a document confirming the completion of training; - a receipt for payment of the state duty for the issuance of an international driver's license. An international driver's license is issued, as a rule, within 1 hour from the moment the necessary documents are submitted.
Step 3
An international driving license is issued for 3 years, but not more than until the expiration of the national driving license.
Step 4
You do not need to retake the exam to obtain an international driving license.
Step 5
In some countries, an international driver's license not only entitles you to drive, but also serves as an identity card. It can be used to book or pay for a hotel room, but in this case you will need to present a bank card issued in your name.
Step 6
An international driver's license is valid only in other countries and cannot replace a driver's license of the Russian Federation.
Step 7
The presence of an international driver's license is not a basis for exempting you from liability for violation of traffic rules in a particular country, and abroad there are very strict traffic rules, and the fines are very large.
