During long-term operation, the Gazelle gearbox may fail, since it has a lot of load. This may be the result of the transmission being able to vary the torque and maintain the desired rpm. To make repairs, it is necessary to disassemble the gearbox.
Necessary
- - screwdriver;
- - keys set.
Instructions
Step 1
Drain the transmission oil first to proceed with a complete disassembly. After that, unscrew the bolts that should hold the lower gearbox cover. Then carefully remove it, but do it in such a way as not to break the gasket.
Step 2
Next, unscrew the elastic coupling, which in the Gazelle should be held by no more than three bolts and, together with the spring, remove it, and then the gearshift mechanism.
Step 3
Unscrew the nuts (5 pieces) that secure the rear cover, and then carefully remove the cover itself. In the process, turn it so that the gears move away from the mount. Then remove the reverse gear. To do this, unscrew the bolts that hold the fork and stem, and then remove the gear that is responsible for reverse by moving the engaging fork.
Step 4
Remove the input shaft bearing and clutch fork from the structure, having installed the box in the correct way. Then tap the clutch housing, unscrew the bolts (6 pieces) that secure it, and remove it. When doing this, keep in mind that you may damage the gasket.
Step 5
Block the intermediate shaft by inserting a metal plate between the gears. Then unscrew the bolt that holds the lock washer. Then take out the shaft and gears.
Step 6
Remove the balls and springs by unscrewing the required bolts. Then unscrew the shift forks: first, 3rd and 4th gears, and only then 1st and 2nd gears. With extreme care, remove the rods after tapping them. Remember the location of the "crackers", as they have different sizes, and remove them, then take out the input shaft.
Step 7
Unscrew completely the screws that hold the bearing plate and pull it out to completely disassemble the gearbox. Use an impact screwdriver to make the job easier for you.
