Step 1
Check out the activities of companies involved in the transportation of cars, based on information from the press, the Internet and the awareness of friends and acquaintances.
Step 2
Find the firm that, in your opinion, is the most reliable and professional.
Step 3
Draw up in two copies an act of acceptance and transfer of the car, one of which you will take for yourself, and the second will remain for the forwarder of the carrier organization. When filling out the act, together with the driver, perform a careful inspection of the car to exclude the occurrence of unreasonable claims.
Step 4
Attach to the act a detailed inventory of the completeness of the car, taking into account all the little things.
Step 5
Write a power of attorney for the organization involved in the transportation of your car, which, together with the inventory and the act, will be required by the driver to present it to the regulatory authorities on the way.
Step 6
Wash the car thoroughly, charge the battery, fill it with at least five liters of fuel. With the vehicle on a platform, protect the seats by covering them with special materials, turn off the car alarm, remove the antenna, side mirrors and trunk.
Step 7
Set the suspension to the "for transportation" position, put the lever in the first speed position (for automatic transmissions - in the P position), engage the parking brake.
Step 8
Check that the car is securely fastened to the transporter. There must be at least two lashing straps and two pads. Make sure that the distance between the transported vehicles is at least 20 centimeters.
Step 9
Get an accompanying certificate. Pay for the car delivery.
Step 10
Check carefully the car delivered to you. Draw up an acceptance certificate with the driver-freight forwarder. In case of any claims, call the appropriate specialists and draw up an act. This act will further serve as the basis for filing a claim with the carrier.
