An on-board computer is a driver's assistant who knows everything and prompts in time, but it needs to be reconfigured periodically. And sometimes only a few indicators are required, but from scratch. How to reset the on-board computer?
Instructions
Step 1
Carefully inspect the handle that controls the wipers, the so-called. "Wipers". In its front part there are controls for the on-board computer. One of them is a function switch and Reset - a button to reset or reset all data on the vehicle.
Step 2
Switch on the ignition. First, press and hold the Reset button for at least two seconds. Thus, set to zero the absolute and average fuel consumption counters, as well as the amount of driving time and the average vehicle speed.
Step 3
Reset to zero the on-board computer indicators, which signal that the time spent driving has been exceeded. Lock the Reset button with one short press. Reset the refueling indicators in the same way.
Step 4
Reset absolutely all on-board computer data. Disconnect the battery terminals and wait a while, at least a few minutes - at least ten.
Step 5
Reset the data in the BC if there is no Reset button, for example, in BMW with E38 and E39 bodies. Go to the hidden functions of the computer. Press the two buttons "1000" and "10" at the same time. “TEST” will appear on the screen. Enter code 19 "Locking additional functions" and press the SET / RES button. Depending on whether hidden functions are locked or not, LOCK: ON or LOCK: OFF appears.
Step 6
With LOCK: ON, unlock first. Press the "DATE" button, which displays the current date, for example, 15:12, respectively the day and month. Add the numbers 15 + 12 = 27, where 27 will be the code to unlock hidden functions. Now use function 19 and the entered code to choose between locking and unlocking. Then enter code 21 - "Reset all errors, as well as BC" and reset the data.
