Every car enthusiast dreams of getting into a warm car on warm seats in the cold season. This is why car manufacturers have come up with such a useful addition as heated seats. Owners of cars with heated seats have already appreciated this useful system. It is installed at a car factory, but you can do it yourself.
Instructions
Step 1
To install the heating, you first need to remove the seats from the car. The moment the seats are removed, you can start laying the power cable. This cable is best laid in plastic armor. For convenience, the center console can be removed. All new cars have standard locations where power switches are installed. For installation, the standard places need to be expanded.
Step 2
Seats that have been removed from the vehicle must be disassembled. Problems can arise when removing the seat upholstery. The upholstery is secured with rings on the underside. These rings need to be straightened out. The upholstery has front and side attachment. It must be removed by gently helping with a screwdriver. The mount is a plastic profiled piece that is sewn onto the upholstery.
Step 3
You need to start disassembling the back cushion from the back from the bottom. It is necessary to unscrew two self-tapping screws and remove the entire cover.
Separate the upholstery from the pillows. Slowly and carefully detach the metal rings from the upholstery. To install the heated seats, you can only separate the longitudinal and transverse fixing wires.
Step 4
Trying on an insulation mat. We mark the attachment line with a felt-tip pen. We also mark the places through which carbon fiber heating wires will be laid. Sometimes the mats are wider than necessary. The mat cannot be trimmed as there is a heating line along the edge. The surplus can be rolled down to the side of the cushion recesses.
Step 5
We glue the mats to the surface. The wires that go to the power supply should be located on one side and should be threaded into the gap between the pillows. With the help of a tie, we attach them to the reinforcement.
Step 6
We collect the seat. The most difficult step is attaching the metal wires that secure the upholstery. It is not always possible to simply put the rings back in place. In this case, you can use plastic ties. After installing the upholstery, we assemble the entire seat.
