In the first case, the future owner will have to go through all the customs procedures for importing and registering a snowmobile on his own. Customs clearance begins when it is brought in and the declaration is submitted to the customs authority.

According to the TNVED RF, snowmobiles are classified under heading 870310100 as vehicles specially designed for driving on snow. The customs duty for this type of vehicle is 5%, which is calculated from its value (receipts, technical documentation), shipping and insurance costs.

In addition, you will have to pay for the storage time of the snowmobile at the customs site until you receive the documents for it. All this ultimately translates into a considerable amount, loss of nerves and time, so some snowmobile owners rightly believe that it is more profitable to disassemble and import it into the country as spare parts.

To go through customs procedures, it is enough to present a passport for the vehicle and a receipt for the payment of the duty, having previously received it from a customs officer who will calculate the amount of payment. In rare cases, it is required to present the snowmobile for inspection, in which case, be sure to take a copy of the compiled act, it may come in handy at the post.

The first snowmobile was patented in Canada in 1916. Since then, Canada has been recognized as the leader in snowmobiling. Modern models are produced today mainly by four leading manufacturers: Polaris Industries (USA), Arctic Cat (USA), Bombardier (Canada), Yamaha Motor (Japan). Also known is the specialized company Alpina Snowmobiles (Italy), which produces exclusively snowmobiles. Domestic snowmobiles "Taiga", "Rys", "Buran" are also in great demand and are not inferior to foreign analogues.
