Seasonal tire replacement is a prerequisite for maintaining vehicle performance. Seasonal rubber allows the car to move freely in the heat, when the asphalt surface is literally melting from the sun, and on icy snowy winter roads.
Instructions
Step 1
For a car, winter does not begin on the first of December, but at the moment when the average daytime temperature drops below + 7 ̊С. It is at this temperature that summer tires begin to lose their properties. The braking distance and the likelihood of skidding when cornering increases several times.
Step 2
At the same time, any, even the most expensive winter tires, will lose even not very new summer tires in "asphalt" conditions.
Step 3
To "change shoes" the car, you can, without burdening yourself with unnecessary trouble, contact a proven service station, where you will be replaced with seasonal tires. If you decide to replace the tires yourself, then you should do it correctly.
Step 4
Before the seasonal change of tires, you should carefully examine them, check the tread depth, there should be no stuck foreign objects in the "pattern". Cord delamination, all kinds of bulges, bald spots and cracks are unacceptable. In this case, it is better to buy new tires. It is better not to save on the life and health of yourself and your loved ones.
Step 5
The vehicle must be parked on a level, hard surface. If the ground is soft, then you need to put additional boards under the jack support pads.
Step 6
It is necessary to securely fix the car from moving. In addition to the parking brake, you should also fix the car with wheel chocks (shoes).
Step 7
The hood, trunk and all doors must be closed.
Step 8
Loosen the wheel bolts or nuts with a wheel wrench.
Step 9
It is better to put pieces of rubber under the jack support platform so as not to damage the protective coating of the car body.
Step 10
Jack up the car. Remove the wheel after making a mark on it. Which will indicate its location.
Step 11
Install the new wheel, making sure that the center pins line up with the holes on the wheel.
Step 12
Tighten the fastening connections. Please note that tightening should be done gradually, without overtightening the nuts or bolts. The final tightening of the fasteners should be done only by lowering the car from the jack.
Step 13
You can unscrew and tighten the nuts using pneumatics, but you only need to tighten it manually. Otherwise, you can make a mistake with the centering of the wheel, and this can negatively affect the chassis.
