Tinting film is considered one of the important parts of car tuning. It can significantly improve the impression of the car, create a sporty, aggressive image. However, if the film becomes unusable, it must be removed. You can handle this task yourself.

Necessary

  • -thermometer;
  • -knife;
  • -heating device;
  • -dishwashing liquid;
  • - a clean rag;
  • - spray gun.

Instructions

Step 1

To remove the tint film, it is necessary to heat the glass to a temperature of about 40 degrees. This requires a heat gun or, more likely and realistically, an ordinary household hair dryer. These devices require electricity to operate, so it is best to find an accessible place with an electrical outlet in advance, before starting the process, and put the car there.

Step 2

Heat the glass evenly. Do not overheat surfaces. Otherwise, the glass may crack and crumble. Or the tinting will melt to a patchwork state, then you will have to scrape it off the glass.

Step 3

After the glass is heated to the desired temperature, take a knife and carefully, being careful not to tear the film, pick it up by the top edge. Be careful and take your time. If you miss the film, then it will hardly be possible to peel it off in one piece a second time.

Step 4

It is best to remove the tint from the glass diagonally, from top to bottom. If difficulties arise and the gradual separation of the tinting from the glass suddenly becomes impossible, take a hair dryer and warm up the surface again. Repeat the procedure if necessary, but monitor the temperature.

Step 5

Inspect the glass after removing the tint. Take the detergent and a rag and gently wipe off the remaining glue from the surface. Window cleaner is suitable as a detergent, however, as practice shows, it is better to use dishwashing liquid. For greater effect, dilute the liquid with warm water at room temperature. A spray bottle is best for wetting the glass with cleaning fluid.
