Step 1
In order to remove the wheels mounted on the car, you must first raise it. This can be done using an ordinary jack or a special lift, which will significantly reduce the time. But such equipment is often installed only in specialized car services.
Step 2
Always start shooting from the front wheel. Put the car on the handbrake, turn on the speed and insert supports under the tires of the rear wheels to completely eliminate the possibility that the vehicle will roll. Then use a wheel wrench to loosen the bolts and raise a part of the car with a jack until the wheel comes off the floor. Then twist it completely. It is not recommended to keep the vehicle on the jack for a long time. It is best to substitute a support of suitable dimensions under it, for example, a wooden stump.
Step 3
After the wheel has been removed, feel free to put a new one. To do this, use the above algorithm, only in reverse order. Having completely replaced the first wheel, repeat this procedure to replace the rest.
Step 4
Please note that you cannot remove all wheels from the car at once and put it on stumps. First, it is very dangerous. Secondly, it can dent or crack in the bottom of the car, which will help the formation of corrosion. And thirdly, the uneven distribution of the vehicle weight will lead to deformation of the chassis parts. All wheels can be removed simultaneously only on a lift.
Step 5
It should also be noted that if the wheels are not replaced with new ones, but with already used ones, for example, winter ones, then the drive of the car should be taken into account as an important factor. On a front-wheel drive car, the more worn tires are installed backward, the less worn out - forward. If the drive is rear - the opposite is true.
Step 6
Tighten the bolts as tight as possible so that the wheel does not accidentally unscrew during operation of the vehicle. Here, brute masculine strength is absolutely necessary. Often a tube is put on the wheel wrench, acting as a lever, and all the weight is placed on it. After this procedure, it is rather difficult to unscrew the bolts back, the case is almost completely excluded that they will unscrew themselves.
Step 7
After completing the process of rearranging the wheels, it is necessary to balance them and adjust the camber. This is done so that the vehicle behaves stably on the road, the steering wheel is level, and the tires wear out evenly.
