The braking system of a car is the life and safety of the driver and passengers. Therefore, it must always be in perfect working order. The technical condition of the main, front and rear brake cylinders should be inspected more often. If any defects are found, make repairs immediately, and if this is not possible, install new ones.
Necessary
- - key for 10;
- - key for 13;
- - key for 17;
- - screwdriver;
- - mounting blade;
- - rubber bulb;
- - rubber hammer.
Instructions
Step 1
Place the vehicle on a lift or inspection pit. Secure the rear wheels. Remove the front wheel and with a 17 key, unscrew the two bolts and disconnect the brake caliper. Set it in a vise. Take a key 10 and unscrew the two nuts securing the connecting tube and disconnect it. Press the tab with a screwdriver. In doing so, it will fit into the side groove of the brake caliper. Use a rubber mallet or large screwdriver to slide the cylinder along the guide grooves. Make sure that the latch remains pressed. Remove the brake cylinder - for this use the mounting paddle as a lever. Before installing a new brake cylinder on the car, install the cylinder in the caliper guide grooves by pressing the lock and press it in with a rubber hammer until it stops. Place the connecting pipe on the brake cylinders.
Step 2
Fix the front wheels of the car and remove the rear ones. Disconnect the brake drum with light blows with a wooden block or rubber hammer. Release the end of the upper return spring from the brake shoe. Lift up the parking brake lever. In this case, the brake pads will move apart or remove them. Disconnect the brake pipe from the cylinder. Remove the 2 x 10 bolts that secure it. Remove the rear brake cylinder and install the new one and all elements in reverse order. Bleed the brakes.
Step 3
Take a rubber bulb and remove the brake fluid from the brake reservoir to remove and install the brake master cylinder. Disconnect the brake pipes by unscrewing three nuts with a 10 wrench, loosen the clamps of the two hose and remove them. Take a key 13 and unscrew the two nuts securing the master brake cylinder to the body of the car or vacuum booster. Remove the cylinder. Install in the reverse order. Add brake fluid to the reservoir and bleed the brakes.
