There are plenty of options to personalize your car, from airbrushing to body panel upgrades. One of the simplest and least expensive of them is to install neon lights, both the interior and the underside of your car. Due to the fact that neon lighting has a lot of color schemes, it will not be difficult to choose the one that suits you.

Necessary

  • - a set of neon lamps;
  • - insulating tape;
  • - set of screwdrivers;
  • - wires;
  • - self-tapping screws;
  • - plastic clamps.

Instructions

Step 1

Decide on where to attach the neon tubes. Apply the markings, mark the places where and which backlight will be installed. This is necessary in order not to get confused in the installation, since neon lamps differ from each other in length. Using clamps and self-tapping screws, secure the lighting around the perimeter of the underside of your vehicle. Mounting may differ depending on the manufacturer and the backlight configuration. Connect the wires from the tubes in series from tube to tube, observing the polarity.

Step 2

Open the hood and find a convenient place to mount the transformer. Secure the high voltage transformer to the body with two screws. Connect it to the battery with high voltage wires. Bring the switch to a convenient place in the cabin. This is best done from the negative power lead of the transformer. Connect the wires from the neon tubes to the high-voltage unit.

Step 3

The neon interior lighting is installed in almost the same way. Start the installation from the luggage compartment. Screw on the tube with self-tapping screws. Fixing the lamps is on four sides for greater reliability. Distribute the rest of the tubes throughout the cabin at your discretion. Remove the wire from the positive contact of the battery. Install a fuse and connect to the positive lead from the battery. Take the wire from the fuse into the passenger compartment and connect it through the switch to the neon. The negative terminal connects directly to the vehicle body.
