Step 1
The instruction is not always at hand and is often simply lost. In order to be able to eliminate the malfunction that has arisen or to urgently disable the system, you need to know which model was installed on the car. First of all, carefully examine the keychain. Most often, the name of the alarm is written on it. After specifying the name, you can determine the model from the catalog of security systems on the Internet and print the instructions. Each alarm, even one of the same model range, is necessarily different in some way, otherwise it makes no sense to establish protection. Each instruction corresponds to only one specific model.
Step 2
It happens that it is difficult to read the name due to scuffs on the keychain, or the inscription is completely absent. Then you will have to look for an alarm unit, which indicates its model and brand. To do this, disassemble the lower part of the dashboard: from the LED installed on the dashboard, there is a wiring leading directly to the unit.
Step 3
There are other ways to define a model. Keychains differ in size, shape and number of buttons, patterns on the buttons, the location of the LED and other elements. If the key fob, for example, has three buttons, then this is a key fob of the City, Captal, Continent, Comfort, Evolution2-Slave / GSM models and, accordingly, the second generation City2-Slave, Capital2-Slave Evolution2, City2, Capital2, Continent2, Country2 and Comfort2.
Step 4
Security systems Evolution2 have two buttons - arming and disarming. Key fobs with four to five buttons appeared later in 2009: Absolute, Avita, Python, Rattler; have 6-8 buttons of the Megatronix, Autostart, Autopage, Code Alarm, Leopard LEO models. The absence of a microwave sensor identifies the City / Capital model.
Step 5
On alarm - Continent and Comfort models (alternate flashing). Models with the number 2 are distinguished by the color of the red LED; blue - model with number 3.
