Fans of riding a scooter or a bicycle, changing to a moped, often forget that this vehicle has some specific control features. Compliance with the simple rules of driving and caring for a moped will provide the driver and passenger with safety.
Instructions
Step 1
Don't give up on protective gear. To reduce the likelihood of injury from accidental falls, wear a thick jacket and helmet every time you drive a moped.
Step 2
When the urge to accelerate arises, do not turn the throttle grip sharply until the vehicle has picked up speed. It is especially dangerous to act in this way if the trunk is loaded or you are going uphill. In this case, the moped can become uncontrollable and throw off the rider.
Step 3
Always follow the speedometer reading instead of relying on your feelings. The fact is that the V-belt variator is capable of accelerating only at constant engine speeds, and, as they say, “by ear” it is extremely difficult to determine the moment of gaining the required speed. Relying only on your own feelings, you risk crossing the safe limit.
Step 4
Do not use only the rear or only the front brake. Brake with two at once, making a short delay before engaging the rear. When using only the rear brake, the moped will be piled on its side, and one of the front ones will flip over the handlebars.
Step 5
Carefully monitor the tire tread, which, when worn, contributes to poor traction, increases braking distances and causes the risk of skidding. Never ride bald tires.
Step 6
Do not dump the throttle directly during the turn to avoid being thrown off the road. Brake before turning.
Step 7
Since a vehicle such as a moped is hardly visible on the road to other road users, always turn on the dipped headlights.
Step 8
When driving on sand, wet asphalt or pebbles, even at a driving speed of 20 km / h, brake with extreme caution. When it rains, avoid crossing large puddles on your moped, do not drive off steep slopes or climb inclines. When driving a moped, do not smoke or talk on the phone.
