Cars made in Europe are divided into ten classes, each of which can contain several subgroups. It is Europe that is the ancestor of car classifications. In total, there are twenty types of cars, differing in body type and overall dimensions.
Class A (extra small)
These are small cars, widespread in Europe, and in Russia the demand for them is increasing every year. These compact, as a rule, three-door cars have a small engine capacity of up to 1, 2 liters and an economical fuel consumption. Due to their small size, they are widely used for urban driving. They are dynamic in traffic jams and also convenient in parking lots. Popular class A models are Smart, Ford Ka, Citroen C2, Matiz, Chevrolet Spark, Kia Picanto, and from the Russian car industry - Oka.
Class B (small)
This is the most common class among passenger cars. This is a budget option that easily transports 4-5 people. These cars have a larger engine displacement than class A, as well as larger dimensions. Class B representatives are Ford Fusion, Volkswagen Polo, Opel Corsa, Hyundai Getz and many others.
Class C (small average) - "golf class"
The ancestor of this class is the Volkswagen Golf, after which it was named. Volkswagen Golf has been the leader in this category of cars in Europe for forty years. Class C is a rather controversial group, since it may include some models of cars of class B and D. This is a constantly evolving class of cars. In Europe, the sales levels of such models as Volkswagen Golf, Opel Astra, Renault Megane exceed half a million copies per year.
Class D (medium)
Middle class cars optimally combine comfort, dimensions and price. Natural high-quality materials are used in the decoration of such machines, which makes them more prestigious and comfortable, and at the same time, reflects on the price. These cars serve well both in urban areas and on highways, thanks to an average engine displacement of 2.5 liters and an optimal design. This class includes relatively inexpensive cars such as Opel Vectra, Ford Mondeo. And more expensive models of compact "luxury class" Audi A4, Jaguar X-type, BMW 3-Series, Mercedes C-Class also complement the middle class of cars.
Class E (upper middle) - "business class"
Business class cars are distinguished by a high level of comfort, including noise insulation and personal air conditioning, which is reflected in the price of the car. The impressive dimensions of such machines and a powerful engine with a volume of 2.4 liters are also their characteristic feature. This class of car is very popular in Russia, while in European countries the demand for it is gradually decreasing. Audi A6, BMW 5-Series, Mercedes E-Class, Toyota Camry, Nissan Maxima, Peugeot 607 are the main representatives of the "business class".
Class F (highest) - "luxury class"
These powerful exclusive models are divided into sports sedans BMW 7-Series, Lamborghini, Jaguar XJ and executive models, which are often used for driving with a personal driver. The last category of cars includes Rolls-Royce Phantom, Mercedes S-Class, Mercedes-Benz S-class.
