The Bugatti Veyron is the speed leader among production supercars. The highest speed it can reach is 431 km / h. The record was set in the summer of 2010.
Instructions
Step 1
The Bugatti Veyron is the result of numerous inquiries from customers looking for a dynamic and redesigned hypercar model. The manufacturer of the high-speed car is Bugatti Automobiles S. A. S., which is part of the Volkswagen concern. For power, an 8-liter W16 engine with enlarged intercoolers was installed in the car. The turbochargers were also modernized and updated. This helped to make the Bugatti stronger than the previous series by 199 hp. and develop a power of 1200 hp. To achieve good stability, the developers have installed "racing" suspensions in the car. Additionally, aerodynamics have been worked out and a new body design has been invented. With the help of numerous carbon fiber, the employees of the automaker reduced the weight of the supercar by about 50 kg. They also added a diffuser and doubled the tailpipes of the exhaust system.
Step 2
Before the official Bugatti top speed race, a mock test was carried out by the popular British car show Top Gear. Leading James May got behind the wheel. He accelerated the Bugatti to 417 km / h. It is worth noting that the race was carried out with a speed limiter up to 415 km / h.
Step 3
Official races were held on July 4, 2010. The pilot of the Bugatti company Per-Henri Rafanel got behind the wheel of the hypercar. In order to determine the maximum speed, the speed limiter was dropped on the car. The first run on the Bugatti Veyron from south to north showed a speed of 427.9 km / h, and the second run in the opposite direction - 434.2 km / h. This result eclipsed all the expectations of the creators of the car. They counted on an approximate speed of 425 km / h.
Step 4
Representatives of the Guinness Book of Records and an employee of the German Agency for Technical Supervision were present at the arrival. They recorded a speed of 431 km / h, which is the average of two races.
Step 5
The Bugatti Veyron has a mintage of 25 cars. The first five are black and orange and lack the speed limiter. These supercars can accelerate their car to 430 km / h or more. The rest have a different color and a speed limiter with a mark of 415 km / h. Bugatti accelerates to 100 km / h in 2.5 seconds, to 200 km / h in 6.7 seconds, to 300 km / h in 14.6 seconds.
Step 6
The price of the new supercar starts at € 1.65 million. In 2011, the Bugatti Veyron Merveilleux Edition, the only car in its series, was presented to an individual Chinese customer for his birthday. And the owner of Bugatti in Russia is Suleiman Kerimov, an entrepreneur and owner of the Anji football club.
