Drivers who still did not notice their mistake and after that started the engine, you need to be ready to shell out a rather large sum for repairs. Since in most cases in modern diesel engines that have been fueled with gasoline, the injection system, fuel line and tank will need to be replaced.
With older diesel engines, it is possible to drive some distance on petrol. But in this case, you need to solve the problem as soon as possible. For new diesel engines manufactured since 2000, the rule applies: hands off the ignition key as long as there is gasoline in the tank instead of diesel, since in these models gasoline removes the necessary oil film.
Also, in the opposite cases, when diesel is filled in instead of gasoline, it is recommended to turn off the engine immediately. Otherwise, damage to the injection system will occur.
