Step 1
As an introduction, a small educational program on car generators. The voltage of electricity generated by the specified device at various speeds is regulated through the excitation windings and is maintained constantly within the range of 13, 8-14, 2 volts.
Step 2
The task of providing consumers of the on-board network of the machine with a current of the specified nominal value is assigned to the voltage regulator (RN). The connection of the generators is carried out according to different schemes, depending on the brand and model of the technical vehicle. So the model range of VAZ, AZLK-2141 and "Tavria" are equipped with devices G222 or 37.3701, the "tenth family" of the Volga Automobile Plant is equipped with generators 94.701 or AAK-5102, all of them have a built-in voltage regulator (commonly called "chocolate" or "pill") …
Step 3
The voltage is removed from the generators from the thick terminal, which is connected to the positive terminal of the battery and is marked as: "30", "+", "B", "I +" or "BAT". The negative terminal of the windings and diode bridges is designated: "31", "-", "D-", "DF", "B-", "M", "E" or "GRD". The voltage regulator terminal for supplying power to it from the on-board network when the ignition switch is on is marked as: "15", "B" or "S". And the pin connector: "61", "D", "D +", "L", "WL" or "IND" is designed to supply power to the charging indicator lamp.
Step 4
When the battery recharging stops, then, as a rule, this indicates a failure of the voltage regulator, you should not despair in this case. It is enough to apply current to the field windings and you can get to a car dealership or a service station without exposing the battery to a deep discharge.
Step 5
Let's cover this issue in more detail. So, if a malfunction occurs in the PH, then it is dismantled, and in order to excite the G222 generator and force it to continue working, we connect the “B” terminals of both devices, and “W” (in the voltage regulator) must be cut.
Step 6
Then, during the assembly, the "W" terminal is connected by a piece of any wire to the "mass" of the brushes. A wire is disconnected and isolated from the terminal "30" of the generator, and a light bulb with a power of no more than 15 watts is connected in series to the output circuit "15".
Step 7
To excite generators 37.3701 and 94.3701 after switching off the PH, a similar light is connected to the "B" terminal.
