Step 1

They do not interfere with comfortable movement, but add extra weight. The greater the weight of the car, the more power the engine has to develop in order to move the car. The Volga itself is a very heavy machine. Try not to carry long bags of potatoes or an old set of tires with disks. This will not only save on fuel, but also extend the life of the shock absorbers.
Step 3
Install the new firmware of the electronic control unit if you have an injection model. Now there are a large number of different firmwares. You can select the desired correspondence between the parameters flow and power. If you have a carburetor engine, then replace your carburetor model with a more economical one. At the plant, they install very gluttonous carburetors, the appetite of which is almost impossible to reduce.

Try to change your driving style. Do not jump abruptly at traffic lights. Decelerate with engine speed, downshifting. Do not exceed the permitted speed. These measures will save not only on fuel, but also on fines. The risk of an emergency will also be reduced.

In winter, do not turn on the stove in a newly started car. Let the engine warm up. Try to use the stove and cigarette lighter to a minimum, as these are the main causes of excessive fuel consumption.
