The head unit cannot always meet the requirements of a car enthusiast. Indeed, often new cars are equipped with an audio system in such a way that its price does not increase the value of the car. To put a new radio in the salon, you need to dismantle the old one.

Instructions
Step 1
Soberly assess your strength. In some car models, it is required to disassemble half of the torpedo in order to get to the radio mounts and pull it out. In addition, even with the correct keys, the process can be delayed if the machine has already been in operation for a long time and the radio fixtures are stuck in the mounting slots.
Step 2
Check the presence of special keys in order to remove the head unit. These keys must be included with the instructions for the audio system. If the keys are lost, you will have to go to the dealer or to the car market. When visiting the market, take with you the instructions for the device or just write down the serial number, manufacturer and model of the radio in a notebook so as not to make a mistake in choosing and answer the clarifying questions of equipment sellers.
Step 3
If the keys cannot be purchased, ask the sellers how you can replace these devices. Pay attention to the recommendations of experienced drivers. So, for example, a radio tape recorder in a Toyota car can be successfully pulled out using ordinary skewers sold in many stores.
Step 4
Before getting started, be sure to disconnect the negative battery cable. Be careful with the wiring. Do not break the integrity of the connectors. If there are just wires, prepare a marker and adhesive tape in order to navigate after dismantling in a huge number of wires that will appear in place of the pulled out audio system.
Step 5
Apply keys or their substitutes. Pay attention to the way of moving the radio in the place of dismantling. Some car models are equipped with a rigid mount for the audio system, while others use metal skids. If there is a sled, you will need to disconnect the specially designed mounts and continue working. Completely de-energize the radio, unscrew all contacts and terminals. Disconnect the power supply very carefully and remove the radio from the installation cover.
