Step 1
When, in addition to all other signs, the surface of the fuel pump housing is covered with a wet and dirty coating, this is further evidence that the fuel pump is time to be disassembled and repaired.
Step 2
Having previously washed the surface of the pump in kerosene, it is disassembled, starting to round the screw with an 8 mm head that secures the top cover, under which there is a strainer.
Step 3
By unscrewing the screw, the cover is removed, and a mesh filter is carefully removed from under it, which protects the pump valve from the ingress of debris, which can lead to the valve sticking.
Step 4
Next, six screws are unscrewed with a screwdriver, after which the pump casing is disconnected, and by turning the stem on which the diaphragms are fixed by 90 degrees, it is removed from the pump casing together with the spring and plastic gaskets.
Step 5
To remove the fuel pump lever, you must first remove the rod from the bottom of the body, on which it is attached.
Step 6
All parts are examined for wear. Those that have fallen into disrepair are replaced with new parts. After that, the pump is assembled in the reverse order of disassembly.
