If you are not satisfied with the steering wheel that was installed on the car from the factory, then you can easily change it to a more comfortable one. There is currently a fairly large selection of steering wheels on the market that will suit every driver.

Instructions

Step 1

Prepare a set of heads, a curly screwdriver, a drift and a hammer in advance. These tools are necessary for work. It takes about an hour to remove and install the steering wheel. Therefore, it makes no sense to contact expensive services with this problem.

Step 2

First, you need to dismantle the decorative trim that is installed on the steering wheel cushion. To do this, simply unscrew a few screws with a screwdriver. After removing it, you will see the pillow. Under it is the main nut. With its help, the steering wheel is fixed to the steering shaft.

Step 3

Next, remove the key from the ignition and turn the steering wheel slightly. Do this until the anti-theft mechanism works. It will firmly fix the position of the steering shaft. Then, using a 27 mm wrench, unscrew the nut that secures the steering wheel to the shaft. At this point, you can try removing the steering wheel.

Step 4

If it does not come off, then sit in the driver's seat and rest your knees on the steering wheel. In this position, you need to apply sharp blows with a hammer in the center of the steering shaft through a drift. More often than not, two or three blows are enough to get the steering wheel hub off the splines on the steering shaft.

Step 5

Now you can remove the old steering wheel and replace it with a new one. Install in reverse order. Tighten the nut that secures the handlebar to the shaft securely. Otherwise, the steering wheel could fly off the splines when cornering. If necessary, lubricate all parts with special grease. The steering wheel will then turn much easier. Check the performance of the new rudder on a straight track. It is highly discouraged to install a non-original steering wheel on this car model. In the future, you may have problems driving your car. Repairs can be costly.
