The cable that connects two computers to each other, as well as the patch cord connecting the computer to the hub, must be connected correctly. This is a simple matter, the main thing is to remember the color sequence.
Instructions
Step 1
Remember that a cable that connects two computers or two network devices to a network is called a "crossover". It is very easy to distinguish a cable of this type from one connecting computers with a hub. If the wires fit the connectors that will be connected to the equipment, in the same order (according to the colors of the wires), this is a straight cable. If the wiring is different - it is a crossover, from the English word "cross" - an intersection.
Step 2
Buy a twisted pair (UTP cable) from any store that sells computer networking accessories. It is advisable to immediately purchase a cable of the required length, then you do not have to think about where to hide the extra part. Take the required length of cable and carefully cut the protective cover two centimeters. Never damage the thin wires or their insulation. It is best to use a special tool for this, which can be purchased at the same store or rented.
Step 3
Now distribute the wires from one end so that they are in the same horizontal plane, in this order: - white-orange; - orange; - white-green; - blue; - white-blue; - green; - white-brown; - Brown.
Step 4
Distribute the wires on the other end of the twisted pair in a different order: - white-green; - green; - white-orange; - blue; - white-blue: - orange; - white-brown; - brown.
Step 5
Carefully line up the wires first on one side and then on the other. Bring the wires close to each other, cut using the knife of the twisted pair crimping pliers, leaving about a centimeter. Turn the RJ-45 plug with the retainer down, put it on the cable so that the wiring remains in the correct order and goes all the way into the special grooves. In this case, the cable sheath must fit inside the plug. This will prevent the wires from kinking.
Step 6
Insert the fork into the groove in the pliers and squeeze the tool handle firmly. Repeat the operation on the other end of the twisted pair.
