To increase the power of the VAZ engine without boring the cylinder block and replacing the piston group, change the fuel supply system. In the basic configuration, VAZ cars are supplied with carburetors, where fuel and air are mixed. In this case, the engine itself sucks in both gasoline and air, spending about 10% of the power for this. To eliminate these losses, install an electronic fuel injection system (injector) on the car, which supplies it directly to the combustion chambers under pressure.
Necessary
Fuel injection system, electric petrol pump, gas tank, sensors, powerful generator
Instructions
Step 1
Get a new gas tank, wash and dry it, then install an electric gas pump there. Be sure to align the arrows on the pump body and the tank, make sure that the fuel gauge moves without effort.
Step 2
Drain the antifreeze from the engine and remove the radiator. Drill holes in the block for attaching the knock sensor (16 mm deep) and the bolt securing the upper part of the ignition module bracket (20 mm). Special castings are provided for this in the block. Work carefully so as not to drill through the wall.
Step 3
Drain the oil, remove the engine pan and timing belt. Install a new oil pump with a seat for the crankshaft position sensor. Replace the alternator with a more powerful one with a toothed damping pulley. Replace the alternator belt.
Step 4
Remove the battery, the entire fuel supply system, starting with the fuel pump, distributor and throttle cable. Completely remove all ignition wires, fuel pipes, and gas tank. Disassemble the dashboard and add a wire from terminal 15 of the ignition switch and tachometer input. Insert the ignition harness from the engine compartment, connect it to the standard connectors, and connect the two new wires to the mounting block so that they go out to blue and blue with a black stripe. Close the wires going to the fan sensor. Install the relays, controller and fuses in the designated locations. Connect the harness from the new fuel pump to the fuel gauge.
Step 5
Install a plug into the head of the block on the right side. Attach the ground wire from the injection harness to it. Install the manifold, fuel rail injectors, receiver and throttle body. Replace the throttle cable with a longer one. Lay the fuel line along the underbody, install the pipes and fuel filters. Install a new gas tank and connect it to the fuel system.
Step 6
Pressurize the system with a pump and check the fuel rail injectors for leaks. Attach the ramp to the manifold, install sensors, high voltage wires, ignition module. Install the air filter. If everything is done correctly, the car will start immediately.
