This fall, Bentley will unveil its new Continental GT Speed coupe on the Russian market.
Adherents expect the release of the upcoming generation of this sports coupe in 2017. In the meantime, Bentley is modernizing the latest generation of cars. Recall that the two-door convertible and coupe in 2015 underwent a facelift, where there were minor technical improvements, and now the British have presented the Speed prototype on the Internet. Of course, its W12 6.0 biturbo engine has better characteristics: they were increased from 635 horsepower and 820 Newton meters to 643 and 841 N / m, respectively. Bentley tuners have optimized the turbocharging control and the "chiping" of the ECU brains, thanks to which all the data has improved. In particular, the maximum torque limit has been increased. It now holds between 2,000 and 5,000 rpm.
Although the top speed of the coupe remained at the same level as that of the pre-reform version, that is, 331 km / h (however, this is still a record for a road car of this class). However, thanks to the extended shelf and the greater thrust figure, now the sports coupe spends 0.1 seconds to overcome the first hundred. less, that is, now 4, 1.
As a result, Bentley made a worthy rival to another glorious big coupe - his sworn countryman Wraith sports coupe in the Black Badge version from Rolls-Royce, the turbo engine of which is in charge of 632 forces, and 870 Newtons. By the way, this comparison is not accidental, because special series with the use of black appeared - they were declassified by the company simultaneously with the technical data. We are talking about versions of a special edition named Black Edition. The variety of versions allows you to make a choice, for example, a combination of yellow and black colors in the interior, exterior. Also, these modifications are distinguished by other five-spoke black twenty-inch wheel discs, through which the brake calipers are visible, which can be painted black or red.
For the rest, no matter which version you order - here is a solid privilege of black! So, this color with a glossy shade is used to paint the edging of light, windows and a whole group of nodes and details. This is the first visual difference between the Black Edition and the regular Continental GT Speed models.
However, at the same time, Bentley did not focus on the use of the charcoal color. So, the splitter, skirts and diffuser of special-purpose cars can be presented in one of the other colors at will: silver HallMark, black Beluga, yellow Cyber Yellow or deep red Saint James Red. Also, the exterior mirrors can be optionally painted in the appropriate shade.
